Letter: Vaccine rollout should be based on need not location
The COVID-19 vaccine is a key tool in our fight to contain this global pandemic. With numbers continuing to rise in communities across Ontario, it is critical that the most vulnerable people, and the staff who support them, are at the front of the line to receive the vaccine.

Curious On Jan 20, The Globe and Mail wrote that vaccine manufacturer, Pfizer, is urging the federal government to cut or freeze corporate taxes and enhance tax credits for research and development. Pfizer also wants the Canada Revenue Agency to ease up on its investigation of multinational corporations’ efforts to avoid paying taxes in Canada when companies try to shift profits generated in Canada to branch plants located in lower tax countries.
Why the wait in Lambton for the vaccine?
Lambton County COVID rates are the second highest in the province. Today, I discovered the Grey/Bruce health unit received the first of two small COVID-19 vaccine shipments on Jan. 15 and began immunizing long-term care residents across the region. A second shipment of the vaccine will arrive during the week of Jan. 25. The first shipment of the vaccine contained 200 doses, while the second will contain about 800 doses.
LETTER: Budget confusion in Chatham-Kent – again
Elected leaders of Chatham-Kent will begin 2021 budget deliberations this week and have gone into them the same way they always do – without providing clear and resolved direction to municipal staff on budget targets, and without a real sense of urgency.
