South Bruce Peninsula council has approved a new weekly event at the Sauble town square.
The Sauble Beach Vendors Market will be at the town square on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The vendors market contacted council because zoning rules don’t allow good to be sold on the beach itself.
The market will include arts and crafts, agricultural products and various other merchandise.
“It’s a good match for the new town square,” said South Bruce Peninsula Mayor Janice Jackson.
“We are looking for all types of programming for the town square, vendors, artisans, yoga workshops.”
The market could bring in more revenue for the town due to the need for customers to pay for parking in the area. Currently there are no established rental fees for the use of the town square and council will be deliberating a fee in the coming weeks.
The town square, just north of Sauble’s Main Street, was opened in June.
